About me

Billie Cole was born in Melbourne, Australia. Growing up in the land down under, she is the oldest of four girls. She was raised in a house filled with music. Her father was a retired saxophone and clarinet player in the locally known swing bands. He retired his musical career to provide for his family, while continuing to expose Billie to classic Jazz, big band swing, r&b, soul, iconic female singers and music from all around the world. Learning singing, piano and guitar from a very early age was where she found her passion. On long family weekend drives along the coast in Australia, the car was filled with music and that was where all four sisters found their singing voices and harmonies. Her first professional gig was with one of Louis Armstrongs piano players, Sergio Foechi where she performed four nights a week singing Jazz standards as a teenager in a well known Jazz Club in Melbourne called Marios of Brighton. One evening in the Melbourne jazz lounge  the musical arranger and conductor for Motown,  Diana Ross, Jacksons, Temptations,  the legendary Mr Gil Askey walked in.  He asked to join her group playing his trumpet and introducing her to all his new musical experience, stories and music. Billie studied Voice with Top ten tenor Mr Ron Lees for years studying classical voice. She also studied sound engineering and production at the Melbourne school of Sound Engineering and worked professionally as a singer by night and model by day.  She performed on shows such as Hey Hey it's Saturday, Good Morning Australia with Ernie and Denise and performed all over Australia in all the best clubs, lounges and Casinos, also paying her dues on the Cruise ships in the main Showroom. Billie moved to the U.S.A in 1997, where she performed for the past 20 plus years on the Las Vegas Strip in many of the Casino's Luxor, Paris, MGM Grand, Excalibur, Mirage,, M Casino, Fiesta, Lake las Vegas, Hilton, Flamingo, Planet Hollywood, First Friday Arts festival, The Space and many of the Jazz Hot spots in Vegas. Billie has also produced half time shows for the NBA's Championship Games and other leading events. My first passion is singing Jazz, Smooth Jazz, latin Jazz and Old School R&B.

I have lived in Las Vegas for over 20 years making it my home and falling in love with the desert, I am still surprised by this being an Aussie beach girl.  One of my favorite places to be is of coarse on the beach. If I cannot be on the beach then put me in the recording studio writing and composing music of all styles.

"I love expressing myself through the process of musical creativity, it is the doorway to my soul, I feel it come alive, it is my true happy place in life, when I am not on the beach or on the ocean.

My most creative moment is when I play another original finished song that finally comes together. It feels sooooooo good! I love to experiment in all different styles of writing and bring those influences together. Those are the moments, that make it all worthwhile! My new album created by one of Spains finest musicians and artists Toto Zara from the Zaras and myself is a full collaboration of all our influences and experiences and  is truly a reflection of my life and love of music. Enjoy! My intention is to write and create music that brings joy, a great feeling and touches the heart with meaning. I hope you find a connection to the music and stories. Thank you Toto Zara for your relentless loyalty and musical support on this project and crazy life called Music.
